Kerry joins us to tell us more about how a fresh and clutter free workspace helps her run her successful blog Oh So Amelia.
We recently asked over 2,000 freelancers and business owners on their work-life balance, providing a fascinating picture of entrepreneurial working patterns in the UK.
As part of the survey we have been speaking with some of the the UK's most loved blogs to discover how to create a workspace that works for you. So without further ado, over to Kerry..
My main workspace is now in our main bedroom - I rather reluctantly gave up my office to create a nursery for my 7 month old son which resulted in working from the sofa instead.
However, I have been feeling rather unproductive recently and needed to create a space where I could work from home so I turned the corner of the bedroom into my workspace! It works well for me and I love retiring to my bedroom in the evening once the kids are in bed so I can work until early hours of the morning.
I decorated my workspace in white as I like a pure and clean aesthetic and tried to make it appear calm and fresh like the rest of our home. This is great as it means I can swap and change the details when I feel like it. I'm really into monochrome and Scandinavian decor at the moment so I did my best to incorporate that into the space. I find it inspiring!
I believe that a workspace should encourage you to be creative. I always say to surround yourself with things that motivate and inspire you which make you actually want to spend time being there.
I try my hardest to keep it tidy and clutter free so that I can work in a stress free environment and not get distracted. The fact that I made it visually striking also helps keep me focused and more productive compared to when I would work from the sofa.
