Simply Business launches global pledge to kickstart 10,000 small businesses

  • Simply Business has launched a new global social impact pledge, The Big Dreams Project, aiming to help 10,000 small businesses start or grow by 2030
  • The pledge will see the digital broker provide help to small businesses through partnerships with entrepreneurship programmes, as well as offering cash grants, business training and the launch of an employee volunteering scheme
  • Simply Business is one of the UK’s largest providers of business insurance, serving one million small business and landlord customers across the country

20th November, 2025: Simply Business, a digital insurance broker that serves small businesses and landlords, has announced the launch of The Big Dreams Project.

Pledging to help 10,000 small businesses start or grow by 2030, the project is a continuation of the insurance providers core mission to champion the success of small businesses.

As part of The Big Dreams Project, Simply Business will:

  • Partner with Epic Futures, an entrepreneurship programme based near Simply Business’s Northampton hub. The partnership will support over 50 local young people facing disadvantage to develop entrepreneurial and life skills
  • Pilot an entrepreneurial skills project through a new partnership with Ada College, the National College for Digital Skills, and their students in London
  • Offer cash grant opportunities including the Young Entrepreneur Fund, a nationwide search offering £5,000 grants to ten young entrepreneurs age 18-30 alongside business support from Hatch Enterprise to help to kick start their small business dreams
  • Establish an annual ‘Impact Week’ in early December, which will see Simply Business employees volunteer their time and skills to support charity partners and small business owners.

A continued commitment to commissioning research, including the Generation Entrepreneur Report published earlier this year in partnership with the Federation of Small Businesses, will seek to strengthen and deepen the understanding of the challenges small businesses face and propose viable solutions.

David Summers, Group CEO at Simply Business, commented:

At Simply Business we have long been passionate advocates for small businesses. The Big Dreams Project marks the next step in our commitment to champion the innovative, inspiring people behind the small businesses that power our economy and communities.

“In the UK SMEs represent 60% of all private sector jobs and generate £2.8 trillion in turnover each year.

Despite this they face significant hurdles, as the cost of running a business continues to increase.

“Through the launch of The Big Dreams Project I’m excited to see Simply Business accelerate our support for small business owners and help turn 10,000 dreams into reality.
