What insurance do osteopaths need?

Public liability insurance is an important cover for osteopaths, as it can protect you if a member of the public is injured or their property is damaged because of your business. We offer between £1 million and £5 million in cover, to help safeguard you against this cost.

If you have employees, contractors, casual workers or temporary staff, you’re usually required by law to take out employers’ liability insurance. It’ll cover claims from employees who’ve been injured or become seriously ill as a result of working for you.

Osteopaths need professional indemnity insurance to practice lawfully. It’s different to public liability – it can cover you if you make a mistake in the service or advice you give to clients. Simply Business doesn’t offer this cover for osteopaths, so you’ll need to buy it elsewhere.
