Landlords can often struggle to get the information they need. So, in addition to our own landlord articles, we have compiled a list of useful online resources.
We will be updating this list regularly with new resources and websites - so make sure you bookmark the page!
LandlordZone - provides news and guidance on a range of topics, from landlord law to negotiating with tenants. Also includes a useful service directory.
ARLA - the Association of Residential Letting Agents is a professional body for letting agents, but their website provides lots of valuable information for landlords.
DirectGov - the government’s information portal. A treasure trove of vital information, not just for landlords but for every UK resident.
HMRC Online - comprehensive (if sometimes impenetrable) guidance on tax issues. Also provides online filing and payment services for Self Assessment, Corporation Tax, VAT and PAYE.
RatedPeople - a directory of thousands of recommended tradesmen across the country, available to work on your property.
BView - a local business database, with details and reviews of firms in your area. Many tradesmen and professionals are included.
Google Property - a new property search engine integrated with Google’s popular Maps service. Provides free listings for agents and private landlords.
Residential Landlord Forms - a collection of free forms for landlords, including Section 21 and Section 8 notices.
Money Claim Online - a web-based portal to the small claims track of your County Court. Make or respond to financial claims online.
Landlord Forum - an active discussion board for private landlords. Plenty of useful information and support.
SingingPig - a business support forum with an emphasis on property investment. Lots of opportunity for offline networking.
Property Investment Project - an entertaining, often irreverant blog from a private landlord. Language may not be to everyone’s tastes.
The Accidental Landlord - the continuing saga of one ‘accidental’ landlord’s journey into the realm of buy-to-let.
