As the Brand Marketing Manager, you will be the voice of the brand in some of our most important channels. You will spend the majority of your time guiding the strategy and execution of brand programs and advertising campaigns to reach the small business insurance audience. You will also work to build and activate our social channels and guide our PR strategy, develop initiatives and identify opportunities to bring our positioning to life. 

You will be a brand champion, inspiring our company, keeping it on brand and working across the business to identify opportunities to bring our strategy and positioning to life. You are a communications expert, you know how to craft stories, bring people together and generate energy around a brand.

This is an amazing opportunity to be part of a growing team looking to elevate the Simply Business brand. You will report to the Director of Brand Marketing and you will work in close cross-functional partnership with teams inside and outside of marketing.

Essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for implementing brand strategy through marketing communications, advertising assets and brand related programs
  • Craft the strategy and lead execution for social and PR initiatives to generate awareness of our offerings and demonstrate our brand positioning
  • Monitor social channels and lead community engagement efforts, you’ll have the opportunity to develop a new process with customer support to ensure that responses are handled appropriately
  • Manage PR and thought leadership activities, draft and issue press releases, coordinate with senior stakeholders, media contacts and agencies, etc.
  • Champion the brand across the organization through regular interactions to ensure teams are adhering to our standards and embodying our strategy and positioning 
  • Measure and communicate the performance of brand, social and PR initiatives through a monthly dashboard

What are we looking for:

  • 6-10 years of marketing experience of which:
  • At least 3-5 years is experience managing creative and campaign development, working within an agency or managing agencies
  • At least 1-3 years is experience building, interacting and managing social media, including agency management experience or experience working within an agency
  • At least 1-3 years is communications experience around thought leadership and other PR initiatives
  • Strong attention to detail, organized and process oriented with the ability to move complex projects along
  • An outgoing and collaborative person who can foster strong working relationships with internal teams, agencies and partners
  • Strong analytical and communication skills; ability to analyze data and communicate trends and insights as they relate to business objectives
  • A self-starter who can bring a strong point of view on our messaging and creative expression to ensure alignment with strategy
  • Desire to learn and stay up to date with the latest advertising, social and industry trends

What's going on with work from home and return to the office?

At Simply Business, we’ve shifted to a hybrid working model, meaning we have employees working virtually and in the office at any given time. That means our SBers have more choice and greater flexibility to work in a way that’s best for their particular job, their teams, and their lives.

There are times when working together in person is the best way to get things done. We know that taking time for in-person connections in our hubs (that’s what we call our offices) contributes to our community and our culture - it’s what makes SB great and helps us stand out, which is one reason why we were listed on BuiltIn’s Best Places to Work in Boston for 2023! It also helps to accelerate trust, collaboration, and innovation, which in turn leads to better results and customer outcomes. We expect our SBers to connect in their hubs at least four times a month. That said, there’s no one-size-fits-all solution, so we expect all SBers and their teams will find the operating rhythm that works best for them.
