You name it, we insure it
We loved these names so much, they were the inspiration behind our latest ‘You name it, we insure it’ campaign.
We held out for a hero and chose Bonny Tiler to be one of our five campaign superstars – five businesses with a brilliant punny name that we just had to celebrate.
Introducing… Bonny Tiler
Sharon Staples initially set up a small tiling business in the Vale of Glamorgan, which blossomed as she gained a reputation for being a perfectionist and a conscientious worker. Being a female tiler, she thought the name was a good play on words.
Soon enough, Sharon decided to expand the business and brought her husband Andrew on board. With his experience in plumbing, they became known for fitting quality bathrooms and wetrooms, as well as their tiling.
Building a respected company
Over the last six years, Andrew has run the business himself, while Sharon’s looked after the accounts and finances.
Andrew gets real satisfaction from working for himself, seeing how his and Sharon’s hard work has built the business into a well-respected company: “I enjoy seeing quality workmanship and leaving customers happy with the finished job.”
Finding brilliant employees
One of the difficulties that Bonny Tiler’s been up against has been hiring people who share the same passion for quality and conscientiousness.
“It’s a challenge finding staff who have the desire to produce the same top quality work. Thankfully, we have,” says Andrew.
“We employ Curt who’s a great tiler and decorator and very good at most things, and another lad Andrew who does tiling and labouring.”
What do the customers think?
Andrew says his favourite part of the job is a happy customer – and Bonny Tiler have the reviews to back this up. He loves to see positive comments and reviews on Facebook and other platforms, and finds reading them very rewarding.
With an appearance on The One Show under their belt (presenting a tiled plaque to Bonnie Tyler herself), what did they think of being asked to take part in our ‘You name it, we insure it’ campaign? “It was great fun doing it,” Andrew says.
