Time to rebuild your reputation?
Sadly, if you’re a builder or a plumber the findings aren’t too pretty, as according to the survey’s findings you’re seen as the least trustworthy. Despite the good deeds of thousands, it appears that a few are tarnishing things - the bad work of a cluster of cowboys ruining your reputation.
Electricians, carpet fitters, and gas and electricity meter readers all fared slightly better in the survey, but the tradespeople that took the mantle of the most trusted were… Britain’s gas engineers!
The musts for earning trust
So what makes for a trustworthy tradesperson? Well it isn’t qualifications apparently, appearance and behaviour seen as bigger indicators according to the Gas Safe Register survey. Qualities customers look out for include:
- Good eye contact
- Good clothing
- A nice smile
So perhaps it’s time to invest in a flashy suit and an A-list dentist, on top of all the other essentials…
