Every company has perks and downsides. But at Simply Business - two times winner of Sunday Times’ Best Company to Work For - let’s just say the latter are at a premium …
The Best Company to Work for 2015 and 2016
Simply Business have now been crowned the Best Company to Work For in the UK for two consecutive years.
The first time around we were naturally delighted. The second time? We felt it was a real vindication of the values that make us, us - learning, empowerment, authenticity, pioneering, and simplicity.
This year we celebrated a double achievement, as our CEO Jason Stockwood picked up the prize for Best Leader. And it’s not just for the fact that he sits amongst the rest of the work force (we think segregated, private offices are kind of out-dated), it’s about “making every single member of the team feel empowered to achieve their full potential,” he says.
Award winning colleagues
But the awards don’t end there. From data, analytics and technology to customer experience, almost every area of our business has been recognised at some point by industry awards.
Learning and empowerment mean a lot to us, and when we’re not winning awards, we can usually be found levelling up, hosting a hackathon or disrupting and innovating in the world of insurance – all as a truly agile company.
Helping the next generation
We believe that it’s our job to look out for and strengthen the world in which we operate. And we’re deeply passionate about providing a brighter future for the next generation.
Whether it’s taking part in Arctic challenges, cycling between our London and Northampton offices, or working with our Charity Partner Whizz-Kidz, we like to get stuck in when it comes to raising money for charity.
Our dedicated IMPACT team are always on the look out for more ways that we can help, and later this year a team of Simply Business staff will take to the Sahara aiming to beat the £20,000 we raised last year for Save the Children.
We love working hard, but what’s also important to us is forming personal connections with the people we see everyday.
That’s why we have regular company-wide parties and social events. These can range from after-work poker tournaments arranged by our Culture Club right up to company trips to Brussels.
We’re strong believers in getting the work-life balance right, and social events – along with flexible hours, distributed working and hot-desking – help us enjoy working at Simply Business that little bit more.
It’s about more than making good memories, it’s about making the #BestMemories…
Championing small business
Small businesses are drivers of real growth and the backbone to the British economy. And we’re immensely proud to be insuring over 300,000 of the businesses and landlords building Britain.
From plastering our customers on huge billboards all around the UK, to campaigning on behalf of the nation’s microbusinesses, there’s nothing we love more than helping real people, running real businesses.
