The 2016 Sunday Times Best Companies to Work For winners are about to be announced, so we’re taking the opportunity to reflect on our momentous win last year.
Simply the best (company)
The Best Companies competition ranks the country’s most happy, motivated workforces, based on the results of detailed employee questionnaires.
Last year, Simply Business was crowned number one business to work for. Over 1,000 organisations entered the competition, so our number one spot was an astonishing achievement.
So, why us?
We know it’s pretty special here at Simply Business, and we were over the moon that our brilliant culture was recognised by such a prestigious body.
What makes Simply Business such a great place to work? Well, the opportunity to go husky sledding in the Arctic to raise money for charity and the tradition of having burritos on a Friday help. But more importantly, the way we work makes for happy employees: open forums for discussion and feedback, genuinely flexible working, and an approachable senior management team.
As our CEO Jason Stockwood explains: “We are constantly searching for ways to attract and reward colleagues and as the business landscape continues to evolve, we challenge our ways of working to ensure we are thinking differently from others in our market space.”
Members of our tech team, HR team and marketing team joined Jason to collect our trophy last year at the glittering awards ceremony at London’s Battersea Evolution. The rest of the company had a chance to celebrate soon after, with parties held in the London and Northampton offices.
The Best Company To Work For 2016?
Here at Simply Business we’re excitedly waiting for the release of the 2016 winners and hoping that we’ve held on to that top spot. Look out for the Best Companies 2016 announcement on Friday and see whether we’ve kept our crown for another year!
