We need a Technical Writer to join us in London (Bank) with a passion for creating Technical Documentation to share knowledge across the business
As a Technical Writer you will:
- have the ability to create and use visuals models to convey complex ideas in simple terms
- possess a natural curiosity for tech and learning how it works
- have basic web development skills
- be familiar with (and active on) one or more blogging platforms
- creating and maintaining usable technical documentation
- collating content for technical documentation from across the Tech Team
- documenting tests and features & making them more accessible to the business
- maintaining our tech blog to ensure that we share our knowledge with the wider tech community
- setting guidelines and upskilling the team as to best practices and processes for documentation
- helping new starters learn about our business and technology
- interfacing with a broad cross-section of the business, not just tech, making documentation accessible at many levels.
- being proactive in suggesting new tools, technologies and ways of working
What we are looking for:
- strong writing skills
- commercial experience of constructing and organising API documentation
- the skill to write clearly, concisely, and precisely (7 c’s of communication)
- the ability to tailor your delivery based on your audience and subject matter in a way that makes it accessible
- previous commercial experience as a Tech Writer or similar in a technology company
- strong people skills to enable you to work collaboratively with teams across the technology team and the whole business
- experience working with GitHub (or similar version control systems)
