The role

Following significant expansion in the past 5 years, and with our ambitious plans for future growth, we have outgrown our existing manual cash and revenue reconciliation processes.

Over the course of the coming 12 months, we want to make significant changes so our processes are fit for purpose and are scalable moving forward.

Working collaboratively with the Finance team in Northampton and London, this role will help to re-engineer our existing processes, incorporating appropriate technology.

This role will also cover a planned sabbatical of our Revenue Accounting Manager later in 2018.

As a Sytems Accountant you will:

  • assist with redesigning all aspects of the Revenue reconciliation process, from the daily cashbook reconciliation through to the Broker Bank Account balance sheet reconciliation and the distribution of the Bordereaux to insurers
  • provide backup for key tasks performed by the Revenue Team, including the Daily Cashbook Reconciliation, Bordereaux production and emailing
  • assist with clearing the backlog of unresolved misbalanced transactions
  • assist with Sarbanes Oxley compliance
  • liaise with other Northampton teams, Product teams and the Northampton Contact Centre Change team
  • assist with the exploration and implementation of relevant software tools / technology

Responsibilities include:

  • gaining a working knowledge of the current reconciliation processes
  • re-engineering the revenue and cash reconciliation processes
  • completing the documentation of these processes
  • covering the sabbatical of Revenue Accounting Manager in November

What we are looking for:

  • fully qualified accountant (newly qualified is fine)
  • systems experience
  • reconciliation experience
  • project experience would help
  • advanced Excel skills
  • great interpersonal and communication skills
  • ability to work under pressure
  • financing background would be ideal
  • experience with high volume of payment receipts would be amazing
