We’re Simply Business
We insure small businesses and enable big dreams – not just for our customers, but for our people and communities too. With over 750,000 active insurance policies, we protect builders, bakers, landlords, and more than 1,000 other trades.

We’re a B Corp too, which recognises our strong track record of having a positive impact on people, society and the environment.

But what’s it like to work here? Here are three reasons why Simply Business could be your next employer

We Embrace Individuality We value what’s important to each and every SBer. Whether that be providing access to cutting edge wellbeing support, or being part of one of our many diversity networks and communities.  We also take personal development seriously - we’re all about enabling big dreams.

We Trust Who We Hire We empower SBers with choice and flexibility to make the right decisions based on the needs of their roles and we’ve been working this way long before Covid19.
There’s no one-size-fits all solution when it comes to how often we get together in person, so all of our people and teams find the rhythm that suits them best when it comes to working from home or hub.
We’re innovative We've created a place for people to be curious, experience new things, and bring unique ideas to the table. If you want to learn how we do all this - head over to our Careers page where you’ll see us walk the talk

If Simply Business sounds like the kind of place you’ll thrive, we’d love to hear from you.

We need an Insight Analyst to join us in our London office.

This person would help us understand how to improve our customer experience, optimise our operations and marketing activities, and grow our customer base.

This is a fantastic opportunity to help drive our business forward by leveraging our cutting edge data platform and tech stack, engaging with our product and marketing teams, collaborating with our data engineers and data science team, and putting your analytical skills to use in the context of a data-hungry and agile organisation.

  • build and nurture positive relationships with business stakeholders by understanding their problem-space
  • identify areas of opportunity by taking a holistic view of our customer and marketing data and challenging existing processes
  • promote the output and capabilities of the analysis team across the business to help foster a company-wide data driven culture

Responsibilities include:

  • presenting analysis and recommendations to both senior and tactical stakeholders, and driving action to achieve results
  • supporting product discovery, research, and experimentation
  • capture requirements and collaborate across our data engineers and product teams to evolve our data sets and data pipelines
  • identifying new data sources or proposing new ways to add value using existing data sources
  • build dashboards and self-service query tools and train colleagues to use them
  • assist in the delivery of externally facing commercial data products

What we are looking for:

  • proven aptitude for data analysis data and problem solving with a view toward delivering actionable insight and recommendations
  • using various analytical methodologies to identify areas of opportunity to drive growth or better customer outcomes
  • decomposing business and insight challenges, and structuring, delivering and owning data solutions
  • excellent data interrogation and modelling skills with a strong working knowledge of SQL

  • knowledge of data modelling techniques

Experience of at least some of the following:

  • statistical testing and data science techniques
  • web analytics tools (e.g. Google Analytics, Snowplow, KISSmetrics, Segment, New Relic)
  • programming languages (Python, MatLab, R)
  • data visualisation / BI technologies (e.g. Looker, Tableau, QlikView, Pentaho, Business Objects, Cognos)
