We need a Head of Tech Administration to join us in London.

The Head of Tech Administration role is a crucial one for the successful operation of the technology department. Reporting into the UK CTO, this role will play a central role in enabling the function to deliver change in an Agile and transparent way.
This role will suit someone with senior leadership experience, from a programme management or PMO background, with extensive Agile experience. The role requires a person who is highly organised, comfortable with broad responsibilities, a passion for excellence, a keen interest in technology and a joy for management.

What you’ll be doing 
The role is responsible for leading a growing team, delivering a broad set of operational services to the technology function across three essential pillars:

Tech strategy 
- Act as an advocate for the technology strategy, establishing tracking, monitoring and comms strategies to support its successful delivery.
- Assists the CTO to manage, innovate and deliver the technology and tech talent strategy.

Departmental health
We are a product centered Agile team and our people are crucial to being successful. 
- Support the mentoring, coaching and L&D needs of the team.
- Lead on department recruitment activities, ensuring quality of process and candidate experience.
- Being a focal point for community activities, e.g. meet-ups, events, etc.
- Providing a consistent interface into the people, finance and L&D functions for the technology department.

Department administration
As a large department, coordinated administration is a key aspect of this role
- Leading and coordinating the various ‘Heads of’ departments to complete financial processes of the department, e.g. budgeting  processes, invoicing, expenses.
- Optimises departmental processes as we scale
- Leading on the coordinating the various department meetings, events and meetups
- Measurement, reporting and coordination of the Communities of practices.
- Effectively managing the Tech Ops team deliveries, execution plans and supporting strategies.
- Creates and manages relevant reporting aligned with department and strategic goals.
- Supplier management and reporting
- Supporting the CTO with slide decks, regular meetings etc. 

- Owning team wide communications, SB-wide communications representing Tech.

  • Excellent stakeholder skills and comfortable operating at the highest levels in a business.
  • Good IT background in delivery or planning roles.
  • Highly organised and plan oriented.
  • Flexible team player with the ability to work in a dynamic environment.
  • Thinks creatively and has a broad understanding of the needs of technologists and senior leadership.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and relationship management, and able to work with multiple stakeholders at varying levels, e.g. internal teams, agencies and partners, to deliver fantastic outputs
  • Prides themselves on their organisational ability and impeccable attention to detail.
  • Passionate about ensuring that customers have a great experience and perception of Simply Business.
  • Comfortable managing budgets, budgeting processes and reporting.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and influencing skills.
