We need a Senior Product Manager to join us in London.

As a member of one of our digital product teams, you will be key to growing your product area and outcomes, by leading a team through experimentally-driven discovery – establishing what the right thing to build is – to implementation and beyond. 

You will be a critical player in shaping how we meet the needs of partners now and in the future - insurance is changing and the way we distribute it is fundamental to that change! You will be responsible for creating the product vision and an actionable plan to lead your team to clear, specific learnings and outcomes.

What you will be doing:

  • Lead a cross-functional team through the full life­cycle of product development, from ideation to delivery to measuring success
  • support, train and development a product manager that reports to you
  • Drive the evolution of our key systems architecture to be more flexible and component-based
  • Understand the end to end insurance journey at SB and apply a partner lens to that understanding
  • Partner closely with cross-functional business teams to test, deliver, and measure your solutions

Finding and managing opportunities, you will:

  • Be a systems thinker who is strong in using continuous discovery experimentation to understand the needs of your customers
  • Challenge the existing approaches and ideas of others, as well as your own
  • Formulate the roadmap for your area, ensuring alignment to strategic priorities
  • Proactively engage stakeholders to keep them abreast of the latest learnings and results
  • Rapidly build knowledge of your domain and assess opportunities
  • Define KPIs to measure the success of your approach and your product
  • Manage relationships with any 3rd parties related to your product
  • Champion Build Measure Learn, creating a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the product management discipline, especially in discovery methodologies
  • Suggest opportunities to improve Simply Business based on new technologies, competitors/like-minded businesses, future thinking, and more
  • Be comfortable dealing with the technical complexities of the challenge, changing the way we dispute insurance will require a different set of capabilities than we have today, experience of implementing API’s is a big plus

Delivery : you will

  • Work closely with Tech lead and team to plan sprints, releases and coordinate across dependent products and teams
  • Prioritise and set the team direction, creating a sense of urgency and momentum
  • Break down your deliverables into smaller value chunks and iterate through delivery, releasing value early wherever possible
  • Coordinate with key stakeholders to launch features (both externally and internally)In conjunction with the head of product, create the overarching product vision and strategy for Partnerships at SB encompassing at least 2 teams and 1 other PM

Your experience

  • Experience developing and launching complex technical products, including APIs
  • Excellent technical understanding and appreciate for the challenges ‘under the hood’ – we don’t expect you to code, but you understand how your products are technically architected Good experience gathering and analysing customer pains/needs to implement commercially successful solutions
  • Influencing stakeholders with different objectives to align on a common solution
  • Be comfortable working with some of the largest external partners in the world and understand their needs and how they fit with our own objectives.
  • Demonstrable ability to rapidly gain in-depth knowledge of your product’s domain
  • Experience of identifying and solving the needs of customers through innovative use of technology — prioritise scalable solutions over quick-fix solutions
  • You are confident at pitching ideas, speaking to influence, and formulating objectives
  • Understand in detail the internal workflow of your domain, and the data generated from the systems
  • Know how to balance technical improvements with new business value, ensuring a keen focus of value-driven prioritisation
  • A love of collaboration and experience in leading varied groups to swift decisions
  • Excellent critical thinking and decision making skills
  • Comfortable working with ambiguity Experience working with Agile projects
  • Strong bias to action over deliberation
  • Experience in Insurance or Financial Services is not essential, but highly valued
