We are looking for a Community Manager to join our US team! Reporting to the US Director of People, this role will play a critical role in Simply Business’ better normal -- our post pandemic future of work -- by managing our US hubs (offices) and fostering opportunities for SBers to connect with each other in order to keep our cultural core strong. If you are someone that is energized by bringing people together, leveraging your creative thinking to design spaces or create experiences and are passionate about the future of work then this role will be great for you. 

As a Community Manager you will:

  • Evolve our office space to ensure we are meeting employee and business needs in our better normal 
  • Build effective relationships with SBers, vendors and partners to manage and be the point person for our hubs 
  • Manage the day to day of our hubs including but not limited to ensuring space is properly kept, managing mail, ordering office supplies or furniture, managing our desk booking system, etc. 
  • Join our better normal team and be the US lead on creating opportunities for SBers to connect with each other in a way that aligns to our better normal and hybrid ways of working 
  • Collaborate with global and fellow People team members to build and execute on our connections strategy in order to create opportunities for SBers to connect to drive our better normal and hybrid ways of working 
  • Organize and promote employee experience events (in-market, ad-hoc, company trips, offsites, etc.) to build connections
  • Analyze engagement scores, employee surveys, and feedback from internal stakeholders to identify gaps and build solutions

What we are looking for:

  • Experience in office management, employee engagement, hospitality or events planning required 
  • A genuine passion for creating experiences for people 
  • Demonstrated experience of being able to switch between creating a vision and executing at pace 
  • You have stellar attention to detail, time management, customer service, and prioritization skills
  • Experience managing a budget and prioritizing decisions accordingly 
  • Ability to lift up to 30+ pounds as needed

What's going on with work from home and return to the office?

More and more, people are talking about going back to the workplace and the new normal. At Simply Business, we’re thinking of it as a Better Normal. That means offering our SBers more choice and greater flexibility to work in a way that’s best for their particular job, their teams, and their lives.

We’re shifting to a hybrid working model, so we’ll have employees working virtually and in the office at any given time.

We’re also aware there are times when working together in person is the best way to get things done. We expect our SBers to connect in their hubs (that’s what we call our offices) most likely once every few weeks. That said, there’s no one-size-fits-all solution, so we expect all SBers and their teams will find the operating rhythm that works best for them.

If you’re wondering what it might be like for you at Simply Business, our Talent Acquisition is happy to answer any questions. In fact for them, it’s perfectly normal.
