Brexit Statement:

Following the UK's exit from the European Union, there are changes to Legal Right to Work legislation that applicants from the EU will need to be aware of.

Before 30th June 2021, EU/EEA/Swiss citizens have a legal right to work in the UK and can provide a passport as evidence of this.  No visa will be required.

From 30th June 2021, EU citizens will be required to provide evidence of settled or pre-settled status in the UK as evidence of right to work.  Without this, EU citizens will require a visa to work in the UK.

We need a Compliance Business Partner to join our team in London.

This role is responsible for providing sound and balanced guidance and advice to our business and forming a connection between the risk and compliance framework. Working in the Risk and Compliance team, you’ll balance commercial interests of the business, management of risks faced by the business, the statutory objectives of the regulator, and the interests of our stakeholders.

As a Compliance Business Partner you will:

  • be responsible for compliance advisory services to key business areas
  • guide, challenge, and protect the business through your advisory services
  • take an immersive approach to identifying work that requires risk and compliance consideration
  • apply your services in a way that suits how our business works
  • partner effectively to embed our risk and compliance framework – overcoming challenges to reach sound decisions
  • identify regulatory changes, and emerging risks and opportunities to inform our Product and Tech Teams
  • manage relationships with key stakeholders

What we are looking for:

  • a proven track record of success in a compliance role, ideally in a partnering/guidance capacity working with key business functions and/or digital product and tech teams
  • a master in their field – supported by relevant professional qualifications or a willingness to work towards one
  • a great communicator who’s able to get messages across clearly for their audience
  • a relentless focus on getting the right result for our people and our customers 
  • someone who enjoys a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment 
  • confidence and leadership skills that can drive positive change
  • the ability to thrive in a cross-functional environment with multiple stakeholders 
  • a real understanding of business operations so you can support them effectively 
  • an ability to build productive relationships with all people, from the CEO to people at all levels across the business

Responsibilities include:

  • providing compliance advice and guidance to key areas (as agreed), with support from the Senior Compliance Manager
  • identifying any business risks and escalating them via the risk framework – with support from the Risk Manager
  • developing a working process that makes sure you get the information you need, at the right time, in order to agree compliant solutions 
  • working at a fast pace and prioritising effectively to help the product teams keep to their schedule
  • immersing yourself in the business to make sure you’re at the right meetings to offer regulatory guidance
  • connecting the business with our risk and compliance framework and any policy or procedural requirements
  • supporting the business to meet regulatory challenges 
  • collaborating with other teams such as Procurement, Finance, Legal and Information Security
  • supporting projects that need risk and compliance oversight to be successful 
  • following relevant UK regulatory requirements as well as governance, risk, and compliance best practice
  • communicating impact and actions to the wider business to support our Horizon-scanning activities
  • providing forward-looking advice and guidance that supports long-term growth
