We need a Revenue Accounting Administrator to join us in the Revenue Accounting Team based in Northampton!

The Revenue Accounting Team are responsible for the management of all of Simply Business’ Revenue provided from our Sales of Insurance Policies, this feeds into the month end reconciliations to report our Income generated and providing support to the consultants in the contact centre, amongst a number of other key revenue processes.

The purpose of this role is to support the Revenue Accounting Team function with general finance administrative duties, be actively involved in processing refunds and keen to take on additional tasks where required.

We would like someone who has a keen eye for detail, uses their own initiative, is highly organised and has the ability to prioritise their own workload.

As a Revenue Accounting Administrator you will:

  • investigate missing Stripe Policy Numbers to support the Sales Debtor Program
  • review, approve or decline Refund Requests, raise Finance Notifications to the Contact Centre
  • process refund requests from the Contact Centre by BACS or Cheque, manage additional refund processes (cheque clearances, approval, controls)
  • manage BACS Refunds Inbox Queries
  • assist with Bounced BACS Process
  • raise Finance Notifications to the Contact Centre to correct unallocated Sales & payments post investigation & monitor resolution on a timely basis
  • support & manage Sales & Payments queries from the Contact Centre
  • support General Admin duties within the Revenue Accounting Team - Bank checks, Revenue Accounting Team Inbox & Slack Management, Ad Hoc requests
  • engage into stakeholder meetings which impact Revenue Accounting
  • be flexible to develop and learn additional financial tasks within the team where opportunities arise

Responsibilities include:

  • taking full ownership of all queries & follow through to resolution providing updates to the Revenue Accounting Managers
  • meeting all SLA and deadlines
  • identifying & highlight potential risks from findings and communicate to the Revenue Accounting Managers & Head of Revenue Accounting where necessary
  • being responsible for own Personal Development, completion of mandatory training (Broker Assess), provide and take on board regular feedback
  • being responsible for managing own workload, ensuring to highlight where deadlines/SLA could be missed
  • being accountable for own actions ensuring to communicate to the Revenue Accounting Managers & Head of Revenue Accounting where necessary

Skills and competencies include:

  • ability to identify and update Policy details on excel upload documents
  • experience in an administration environment
  • good understanding of Excel, experience of basic formulae in Excel (SUMIF, VLOOKUP)
  • good understanding of numerical analysis & reconciliations
  • good attention to detail
  • good time management & organisational skills
  • ability to adapt & be flexible to changing priorities and support Revenue Accounting Team
  • good interpersonal & communication skills
