Finance Change and Systems Manager to join us in either Northampton or London.

Following significant expansion over the past seven years and with our ambitious plans for future growth, we have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Finance Change and Systems Manager to drive the optimisation of our systems and processes and to develop a support function within the finance team.
This important role can be based in either London or Northampton, with frequent travel between each (once we go back into the office).

As a Finance Change and Systems Manager you’ll:

  • be the subject matter expert on our accounting software packages and provide support to the finance team
  • lead an examination of our key finance processes in preparation for a review of our finance related software, which you’ll also lead
  • support change projects initiated both from within the finance team, and by the broader business, to protect or improve finance processes
  • identify opportunities for optimising our current systems and processes and own the delivery
  • provide backup for the Senior Finance Change Manager

Responsibilities include:

  • In relation to our finance software packages, including Access Dimensions (accounting), Focal Point (purchase orders), Access Expense (employee expenses), Capture (OCR for supplier invoices) and Access Microsoft Office Integration (AOI/InXL):
  • user provisioning and deprovisioning to Sarbanes Oxley standard
  • creating and owning an onboarding process for new starters
  • developing and owning a knowledge hub for employees
  • troubleshooting support
  • owning and managing the Chart of Accounts hierarchy across all systems
  • liaising with Access support as needed, eg to help a finance team member resolve an outstanding case with Access
  • supporting the upgrade of Access Dimensions, Focal Point and the Journal Upload template in Access Office Integration
  • leading a review of our key existing accounting processes to recommend improvements and to oversee the implementation of these improvements, with the objective of using our existing software to its full capability
  • leading a review of our accounting and MI software and recommending the direction of a future software strategy for finance
  • identifying and leading change initiatives to improve finance processes. In the short to medium term (at least) there will be a focus on the rolling debt tool optimisation initiatives working in close partnership with the Head of Revenue Accounting
  • taking the lead as finance subject matter expert on change projects initiated by other areas of the business, in order to ensure efficient integration with key finance processes and to seek out opportunities for improvement, eg higher premium customers, new ancillary insurance options
  • providing cover and support for the Senior Finance Change Manager, including on existing change projects and Sarbanes Oxley certifications

What we’re looking for:

  • fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA,CIMA)
  • extensive systems experience with the ability to lead and influence a holistic finance systems review
  • great interpersonal and communication skills
  • stakeholder management experience
  • ability to work under pressure and to effectively prioritise
  • experience in a small/medium-sized high growth enterprise environment
  • a diagnostic and positive approach
  • change management experience
