Do you love using data to make decision making simpler? Well, we are looking for an inquisitive, customer-focused Product Manager to iteratively build and optimise our online customer experience. At Simply Business, we aim to be simpler, smarter and always on the side of small business. You will support a Senior Product Manager in defining and coordinating the complete end to end journey from acquisition to sale to support. 

You will be comfortable working in ambiguity, but will create an actionable plan to lead the team to clear, specific learnings and outcomes. This is a great opportunity for the right person to not only improve our existing online experience, but also implement the vision for how we deliver an even better experience for customers.

This is a 6 month fixed term contract opportunity.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with a senior product manager to understand the problems and opportunities in our global, online customer journey
  • Understand how customers progress through our online journey and identify points of friction
  • Manage a backlog of experiments and product improvements that will de-risk our assumptions and drive learnings as well as financial benefits
  • Partner closely with cross-functional business teams to test and deliver your solutions
  • Work with stakeholders from around the business, such as marketing, insurance product, operations and finance, to identify opportunities, communicate and explain changes, and prioritise requests
  • Become an expert in the key lifecycle metrics for customer success, able to identify the areas of biggest impact, articulate the needs and expectations of business stakeholders, and contextualise those with trends in user behaviour and data analysis

Your Skills:

  • Be a systems thinker who uses continuous discovery experimentation to understand the needs of your customers and insurance carriers
  • Challenge the existing approaches and ideas of others, as well as your own
  • Formulate the roadmap for your area, ensuring alignment to strategic priorities
  • Proactively engage stakeholders to keep them abreast of the latest learnings and results
  • Rapidly build knowledge of your domain and assess opportunities
  • Define KPIs to measure the success of your approach and your product
  • Manage relationships with any 3rd parties related to your product
  • Champion Build Measure Learn, creating a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the product management discipline, especially in discovery methodologies
  • Suggest opportunities to improve Simply Business based on new technologies, competitors/like-minded businesses, future thinking, and more


  • Work closely with the Tech lead and team to plan sprints, releases and coordinate across dependent products and teams
  • Prioritise and set the team direction, creating a sense of urgency and momentum
  • Break down your deliverables into smaller value chunks and iterate through delivery, releasing value early wherever possible
  • Coordinate with key stakeholders to launch features (both externally and internally)

Your Experience:

  • Experience iterating and improving online journeys that resulted in demonstrable improvements in customer adoption/usage of your products
  • Influencing stakeholders with different objectives to align on a common solution
  • Ability to rapidly gain in-depth knowledge of your product’s domain
  • A love of collaboration and experience in leading varied groups to swift decisions
  • Good technical understanding of your products/features
  • Excellent critical thinking and decision making skills
  • Experience working with Agile projects
  • Strong bias to action over deliberation
