We’re looking for a Head of Social Impact and People projects to join the People team in London or Northampton.

At a glance, here’s what you’ll be doing:

Leading our Global social impact strategy
Developing and owning our Diversity, Equality and Inclusion agenda for the UK and Shared Service (Global Team) execution 
People strategic projects: programme management eg. employer brand
Member of UK/ShS People Leadership Team

The People Team at SB is not one where you’ll apply any traditional HR handbook. We’re interested in solving business problems and how talent and culture can help.

We exist to create Aha moments with and for the business and we keep ourselves to high standards when it comes to creating an outstanding employee experience.

As the Head of Social Impact and People Projects you will

  • Social impact (approx 50%)
  • Create, own and deliver the Global Social Impact strategy including effective governance of impact reporting
  • Collaborate with the leadership team in the UK and US to determine and measure strategically-aligned goals; influence senior leaders to be advocates and sponsor the social impact strategy

  • Diversity Equality and Inclusion (approx 10%)
  • Localise and execute our DEIB strategy, making sure it tackles the right priorities for our UK and Shared Services population
  • Partner with the DEIB senior manager in the US to ensure the global strategy tackles global problems to solve

  • Strategic people projects (approx 40%)
  • Oversee the programme management for strategic projects, managing our “team of teams” approach to give every people team member a chance to expand the variety of their responsibilities
  • Identify strategic initiatives for the UK and Shared Services together with the rest of the People Leadership team

  • T-shaped leader: in other words, while your depth of expertise and passion is about social impact, you are a great leader eager to make your mark through the entire employee lifecycle.
  • Breadth of experience and curiosity that stretches beyond social impact. We aim to create a people team where everyone has a chance to widen their experience by leading cross-functional projects.
  • This role will be the architect of this “consulting-type” approach, helping form teams around a problem to solve and bringing best practices in leading those temporary teams to success.
