We are looking for a Finance Business Partner to join our growing finance team. In this role, reporting to the VP of Finance, you will be empowered to work closely with business leaders to drive action to achieve our ambitious growth targets. We are a finance team that thrives on deep and varied business knowledge. This role will initially align to support our Customer Solutions Center, with an expectation of rotating and expanding to support other functional areas over time. We are looking for someone that excels in collaboration with stakeholders to challenge and help shape strategic direction, while driving execution against financial targets.

As a Finance Business Partner, you will:

  • Gain deep understanding of the micro-insurance market and your business area, helping to identify underlying financial trends and craft solutions to address customer needs
  • Support your business partners in all aspects of financial performance and long term strategy, partnering to identify opportunities to accelerate growth and maximize value in a cost effective manner
  • Lead in-depth analysis of business and financial trends to drive performance led discussions with business stakeholders 
  • Develop strong interpersonal relationships with functional peers and key stakeholders
  • Support business partners to effectively link strategy to goal setting via KPIs and financial targets
  • Develop financial models used for a variety of business needs, including forecasting and evaluation of new commercial opportunities 
  • Lead the annual budgeting cycle with your business partners, helping to set strategic priorities and develop financial targets on a short- and long-term horizon
  • Coordinate with other areas of the finance organization to share and improve on best practices, tooling, control structure and to support various change initiatives

What we are looking for:

  • Depth of experience in a cross functional and collaborative work environment
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively to varying levels of stakeholders, including the ability to influence and manage through conflict 
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex data and turn into actionable insights 
  • Ability to work on multiple levels, supporting strategic vision setting and detailed analysis on a day to day basis
  • Proficiency in excel, including development of complex financial models
  • A self-starter who is highly motivated and able to work autonomously in a fast paced and changing environment 
  • Ability and desire to problem solve from identification through to solution

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of finance/accounting experience
  • MBA and/or CPA preferred

What's going on with work from home and return to the office?

More and more, people are talking about going back to the workplace and the new normal. At Simply Business, we’re thinking of it as a Better Normal. That means offering our SBers more choice and greater flexibility to work in a way that’s best for their particular job, their teams, and their lives.

We’re shifting to a hybrid working model, so we’ll have employees working virtually and in the office at any given time.

We’re also aware there are times when working together in person is the best way to get things done. We expect our SBers to connect in their hubs (that’s what we call our offices) most likely once every few weeks. That said, there’s no one-size-fits-all solution, so we expect all SBers and their teams will find the operating rhythm that works best for them.
