Brexit Statement:

Following the UK's exit from the European Union, there are changes to Legal Right to Work legislation that applicants from the EU will need to be aware of.

Before 30th June 2021, EU/EEA/Swiss citizens have a legal right to work in the UK and can provide a passport as evidence of this.  No visa will be required.

From 30th June 2021, EU citizens will be required to provide evidence of settled or pre-settled status in the UK as evidence of right to work.  Without this, EU citizens will require a visa to work in the UK.

We need a Senior Finance Systems and Transformation Manager to join us in our London office.

As a team we play an integral role in the business’s continued growth and success journey.

From owning more traditional finance responsibilities such as statutory accounting, month-end reporting and financial management, we also drive the business’s strategic agenda by partnering closely with stakeholders across the business.

As a team we’ve also grown and evolved from being a start-up style support team to a more mature, proactive and influential part of Simply Business. We’ve been through two sales transactions of the company, supported a launch in the US market, numerous process and system improvements, all at the same time as the business has grown by x4 in a little over five years.

As a Senior Finance Transformation Manager you’ll drive the continued evolution of the finance team’s systems, tools and processes, supporting globally where appropriate. This will enable finance to facilitate the successful delivery of Simply Business’s overall growth ambitions.

Working closely with the Group CFO, UK Finance Director and US VP of Finance (and other senior stakeholders), you’ll lead the finance team’s transformation programme, which has an immediate focus on systems and tools, but also includes processes and controls.

Although based in London, travel to Northampton will be required.

Responsibilities include:

  • leading the systems change programme which covers: thoroughly reviewing existing systems and tools and identifying any gaps in requirements; identifying options for upgrades and improvements across the full suite of systems, tools and processes; and stakeholder management across the business including finance leadership, tech, data and people teams
  • working across the finance team to identify and implement systems and process improvements in both the UK and US markets
  • acting as a champion of change on behalf of finance across other departments
  • line management of one team member working on the programme and who owns the systems strategy for finance
  • managing external and internal implementation partners through the transformation programme

What we’re looking for:

  • expert knowledge of ERP and EPM systems
  • a leader of change and the ability to influence senior stakeholders
  • experience in leading finance transformation projects
  • the ability to create and develop a business case to support systems upgrades and implementations
  • the ability to work across a broad range of activities in a highly innovative and fast-paced environment
  • fully qualified accountant
  • great interpersonal and communication skills
  • knowledge of both IFRS and US GAAP
