Job titles could affect insurance premiums
An individual's job title could affect their vehicle insurance, it has been claimed.
According to the results of new data released by Confused.com, depending upon an individual's profession, insurance premiums could be affected by as much as 33 per cent.
"Insurance premiums are influenced by a host of factors ranging from the number of miles you drive per year through to your job title," said Debra Williams, managing director of Confused.com.
"The reason for this lies in the fact that insurers essentially keep a record of claims history against specific job titles," she added.
Among the differing permutations for specific professions, Confused.com found that lawyers may find their premiums lower than barristers and newspaper reporters could incur higher chargers than journalists.
