Dodgy drivers outed online
Bad drivers may find themselves reported by other motorists and shamed online, through a new website betterdrivingplease.com.
The website, established by safety campaigner Andrew McGavin, is similar to one used in New Zealand. Liz Voysey, a representative from UK-wide charity Roadpeace, said: "Hopefully it will force police and a lot of others to get their heads up and start doing more about this. People who go onto this site will realise that bad driving has reached epidemic levels and something needs to be done."
Among the examples of bad motoring reported on the site include a driver who ignored a red traffic light and a driver breaking a 30 mph speed limit while driving through a residential area.
Business motorists should be aware of the new reporting system, as the website could be picked up on by police and insurance companies and used as a source of information on drivers, which in turn could affect their insurance premiums or even their jobs.
