According to reports from the Scotsman, Chris Blake of Telford College in Edinburgh is to compete at the WorldSkills Competition in Japan as the representative for the UK. Mr Blake is a trainee decorator and painter.

"Chris has already done incredibly well to reach this level, and I have every confidence that he will do us proud in Japan," said Jeff Brown, head of the Telford College building services and engineering department. "The competition to win at the UK Finals was fierce, and I'm hoping that has prepared me for the competition I will face in Japan," added Mr Blake.

The WorldSkills Competition will take place between November 14th and the 21st in Japan's Shizuoka Prefecture.
