Tradesmen to pass on parking costs in Eastbourne area

Tradesmen operating in and around Eastbourne will soon be obliged to pass on parking costs to their customers, it has been claimed.
According to comments made by the Eastbourne and District Electrical Contractors Association (ECA), tradesmen without registered addresses within the controlled parking zone will need to pay for parking when visiting the area, generating a cost that will need to be met by the customer, reports the Hastings and St Leonards Observer.
However, it will be possible for tradesmen to purchase a permit at a cost of £2 per day.
"Trade permits are issued to tradespeople [who are] working at an address in the town centre controlled parking zone," said a representative from East Sussex County Council.
All permits may be purchased in advance, up to a maximum of 21, by any one sole-trader or firm.
