The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) is offering advice to construction companies in a bid to reduce the risks of death and injury in the workplace.
According to the HSE, 70 people died in Scotland last year as a result of falling from height in the workplace.
The body will work with the Scottish Housebuilders' Association and Homes for Scotland to reduce the death toll and a safety and health awareness event has been scheduled for Wednesday June 4th at Almondvale Football Stadium in Livingston.
This event will cover a range of topics including falls from vehicles, competence of machine operators, occupational health, self-erecting tower cranes and scaffold design.
It is aimed at giving managers, directors and key sub-contractors advice on how to address serious issues and there will be a range of speakers, exhibitors and demonstrations of equipment.
Jim Skilling, HSE principal inspector, said: "The toll of injury in the building industry in Scotland is a real matter for concern."
Earlier this year the HSE became the single regulatory body responsible for promoting better health and safety at work.
