Temporary shops good for UK economy

People who set up temporary shops are good for the economy, according to the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB).
A spokesperson for the organisation has said that such stores - which often spring up on the high street around Christmas time - are usually developed by people classed as serial entrepreneurs.
"Overall, it's a good situation in the UK where you've got people who are willing to take risks, willing to set up something, get something going and contribute to the economy," said the FSB's Simon Briault.
Mr Briault added that such shops often take advantage of seasonal peaks seen in retail, such as at Christmas time, and that permanent businesses in the same areas as these temporary stores should recognise the competition as a good thing. He suggested that as long as the new competition is legal and "above board" there is nothing wrong with the temporary shops.
According to recent research from Barclays, the under-25s are embracing entrepreneurship, with a 15 per cent rise in the number of business start-ups by this age group.
