Non-alcoholic beer delivered to your door
A Manchester couple are capitalising on the large community of Muslims in the city by launching a business aimed at those who cannot drink alcohol.
Christine and John Humphries have set up an online shop selling and delivering alcohol-free products with the Asian market in mind.
The shop offers a choice of alcohol free beers and wines, including a new offering from Cobra Beer (soon to be granted Halal status), and Dutch beer Bavaria which has been approved by the Iranian government as suitable for consumption under Islamic law.
Alcohol free beauty and health products are also sold on the website.
The couple decided to set up the shop almost a year ago after John decided to give up alcohol completely, but he soon found it difficult to buy products, including toiletries, that didn't have alcohol in.
Christine said: "For example, a glassful of mouthwash included the same amount of alcohol that can be found in a glass of wine. Some cold and flu remedies included 19 per cent alcohol." For more information visit www.alcoholfree.co.uk.
