Cadbury Schweppes has reported positive sales growth figures, in spite of a fall in profitability.
Following the reintroduction of the company's Wispa chocolate bar and the launch of the drumming gorilla media campaign, the firm has reported revenue growth levels of seven per cent.
Introduced in 2007, the drumming gorilla featured the music of Phil Collins.
"We are not being naive, the world is uncertain out there, but we think we have anticipated and we are looking forward to the year with confidence," said Todd Stitzer, chief executive of Cadbury Schweppes.
"We are encouraged by the good trading momentum we have seen in the new year and our continued progress on cost reduction initiatives."
Cadbury Schweppes' sales growth was made up of strong performance within its Dairy Milk brand, introduced by the firm in 1905.
Last year, the firm was forced to recall a number of chocolate bars, as a consequence of an allergy-related manufacturing problem.
