ABI announces details of forthcoming climate change conference
The UK's Association of British Insurers (ABI) has announced details of a forthcoming conference on climate change.
Taking place on September 13th, the forthcoming conference will cover a number of issues relating to the effects of climate change on the weather and the consequent cost increases.
"Insurance companies are playing a leading role on climate change - helping society to take decisions to reduce carbon emissions in the future and enable everyone to adapt to the realities of climate change today," said the ABI.
In addition to the inclusion of a question and answer session, the event will also feature a number of speakers, including the chairman of the ABI, the chief executive of AXA Insurance and HRH, the Prince of Wales.
In related insurance news, the recent flooding in parts of the UK has exposed the insurance sector to costs in excess of £3 billion, the ABI has claimed.
