Web advertising league results point to UK and Norway

Companies in Norway and the UK spend the most on web advertising per person in Europe, according to research carried out by the Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) Europe and PricewaterhouseCoopers.
An average of €133 (£104) was spent on advertising for each web user in Norway according to the research. The UK followed close behind with €121 per person.
The UK topped the list of advertising spending in Europe with 34.2 per cent of all money spent being to attract UK users, a surprising statistic if you consider the fact that high-speed web penetration in the UK is only at 57 per cent, compared to 70 to 80 per cent in Norway.
Alain Heureux, president of IAB Europe, said in a report by the Financial Times: "Software tools that can target audiences provide the perfect dream of any marketer - getting the right message to the right person at the right time. It gives another reason for people to invest."
