VoIP cost-effective for businesses
Investing in a VoIP system will save most businesses money, an expert has recently stated.
Using VoIP can make it easier for employees to change location and can be much cheaper than conventional phone systems, a spokesperson from the Communications Management Association (CMA) stated.
Paul Fegan said that VoIP phones now have the same quality of calling that conventional systems offer.
He stated: "The phones are intelligent in their own right, it's all web controlled; so it's browser controlled, browser configurable, and you've got the security, the configuration, all the capability of a very large switch at your fingertips.
"[It's] easy and more controllable . The facilities that used to be on a big switch where you could profile each individual user is now configurable for a browser on a phone."
Using VoIP technology is definitely "the way of the future" Mr Fegan added.
Currently there are over one million users of VoIP in the UK, according to figures from Ofcom.
