A study by United Parcel Service (UPS) has confirmed that many senior members of the UK's business community do take environmental concerns seriously and are willing to act on those concerns.
Moreover, most of the UK's business leaders not only accept the presence - over the long term - of environmental issues, they are also willing to address the needs of these issues through the implementation of business-practice changes.
Interestingly, while the results of the most recent UPS Europe Business Monitor show that a majority of Britain-based business leaders consider the UK to be the least environmentally-friendly European country, elsewhere in Europe, the UK is not viewed so harshly.
According to Richard Currie of UPS: "[Business leaders] are pretty positive about whether we have a chance to do something positive about global warming," said Mr Currie. "The majority of the senior businesspeople in the UK that we interviewed believe that environmental concerns are serious and are here for the longer term."
UPS's findings were based upon a study of 1,451 individuals across Europe.
