Start-ups warned not to skip the business plan

The development of a business plan is an essential component of any business, it has been claimed.

According to comments made by Denis Palmer, a client service manager at Business Link London, not only should a business plan be developed by a firm, it should be placed under review on a regular basis.

"I'd recommend everyone to write a plan, even if they're only using it internally [and] to write it as though a bank manager was going to read it or an accountant," said Mr Palmer.

"If you've got a business plan, you need to review it on a regular basis and make sure that what you're intending to do, you are doing," he added.

Business insurance should be a part of any good business plan.
