SMEs have positive relationship with their accountants
Most small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) have a strong relationship with their accountants, new data has revealed.
According to the results of a survey by Venture Finance, 84 per cent of SMEs felt the relationship with their accountant was a close one.
"Accountants have a pivotal role to play in advising SMEs about the plethora of funding options available, especially those that exist outside of high street banks," said Steve Websdale, director of Venture Finance.
Indeed, 83 per cent of respondents confirmed they felt of value to their accountant.
In contrast however, according to data released by the Financial Ombudsman Service, last year the number of received complaints relating to banking charges rose by 47 per cent, despite overall grievance levels falling by 16 per cent.
