Although seemingly a world away from VAT returns and company insurance, new research suggests celebrities such as Victoria Beckham and Katie Price are roll models for women entrepreneurs.
A study carried out by NatWest and online business resource everywoman has revealed that figures such as Posh Spice, Katie Price and Elle Macpherson are "inspiring" entrepreneurs and that 76 per cent of women feel successful female celebrities can "make the idea of starting a business more accessible".
Karen Gill, cofounder of everywoman, argues celebrities' "glamour and pin up status belie a savvy business sense that has seen both of them achieve phenomenal success thanks to hard graft and their sheer determination to succeed”.
For those considering setting up their own business, everywoman also states that it is important to get the business finance and book keeping in order. It states accurate financial records are both a legal requirement and can help with "cashflow analysis".
Other women to feature as roll-models include Harry Potter author JK Rowling and Bodyshop founder Anita Roddick.
