Peer to peer training not widely known
Many small-to-medium business enterprises (SMEs) are unaware of peer to peer training as its benefits have not been widely publicised, one training expert has claimed.
According to Business Link, there are a number of businesses operating which would benefit from this form of training.
It tries to bring together groups of business leaders in a discussion forum where experiences are exchanged, specific business challenges are talked about and strategies get refocused, said the advisory service.
John Grange, Business Link advisor, stated that companies need to go looking for this sort of training and have an open mind about it.
"I think people get bombarded with training activities and opportunities which might not be this, and maybe they don't appreciate what this is," he commented.
Recent figures from the Learning Skill's Council Train to Gain study found 61 per cent of respondents are put off taking training due to time constraints in the office.
Nearly half said the cost of training put them off undertaking it, showed the research.
