Networking is a good way to grow a small business
Networking is invaluable for smaller businesses with growth in mind, an expert has suggested.
A spokesperson for the British Chamber of Commerce said that engaging with other firms in person can have many benefits as it is "another way of marketing your business".
He explained that companies which begin on a local level may find that they develop many contacts from networking.
"Engaging in networking is beneficial because the only way you can grow your business is by interacting with people," he remarked.
Networking with others in the same sector can also give a small business owner insight about market trends and the actions of competitors, the spokesperson added.
Small and medium-sized enterprises account for 58.9 per cent of employment and 51.9 per cent of turnover in the UK, according to figures from the Office for National Statistics.
