HSE announces free seminar for businesses

Details of a forthcoming health and safety seminar for advisors to businesses have been announced by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).
Taking place on March 17th between 9:30 and 15:30 GMT, the seminar is being offered as part of a strategy for reducing instances of workplace accidents.
"Managing health and safety is an important part of looking after your business. All employers are required by law to control health and safety risks," said the HSE.
The executive also noted that "effective health and safety contributes to corporate social responsibility".
In addition to providing advice to small to medium-sized enterprises, the organisation believes the forthcoming event will develop the skills necessary to prevent accidents within the workplace.
In related health and safety news, the HSE has revealed that over the period between 2006 and 2007, injury and ill health in London's workplaces resulted in the loss of 3.3 million working days.
