Internet firm Google has been rated as the UK's leading brand in research by company Superbrands.
In the results of the study, Google came first in the organisation's list of the UK's 500 best brands, beating contenders Microsoft and BP, who respectively came second and third.
"The top ten positions are dominated by companies who are either British stalwarts such as BA and BP - or like GlaxoSmithKline - can trace their origins to the UK," said Stephen Cheliotis, chairman of the Superbrands Council, in a report by the BBC.
Mr Cheliotis also noted that the featured brands demonstrate the "finest reputations in their fields and make the most impact on the UK business sector". The organisation's findings are based upon a study of 1,500 individuals.
Other brands featuring in the top ten include Rolls-Royce, the Financial Times and Federal Express. Tenth place went to Hertz, a car rental firm established in 1918. Established in 1995, Superbrands operates in more than 55 different countries.
