FSB searches for small business champions
The Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) is looking for new and "thriving" firms in the UK.
The federation is searching for firms that have been operating for over five years, have fewer than 50 employees and which are "highly regarded by staff and customers".
Sponsored by AIMS Accountants, the search has been launched in conjunction with Enterprise Week.
The competition will see six regional champions go through to a national final - which offers a top prize of £10,000. The regional winners will receive £1,000.
Commenting on the scheme, Rachael Webb, the southern area champion of 2007, states: "The process of entering BSBC was a fantastic challenge because it makes you examine your business and ultimately improve the way you work.
"Winning was fabulous, not only for us but for our staff, who are thrilled to be part of an award-winning company.”
The FSB, which was originally formed in 1974, is a campaign group that operates on behalf of small businesses and the self-employed. It also provides a helpline that can be used by its members 24 hours a day.
