Small businesses around the UK have a vital role to play in the country's fight against climate change and global warming, according to an industry expert.
While much of the media emphasis is often put on the larger companies, small businesses have the "opportunities" to tackle the effects of climate change on a local scale, the Green Consultancy claimed.
John Treble, managing director of the company, stated that the greater awareness of eco-friendly methods can help small businesses and tradesmen introduce greener practices easier than they could have done a few years ago.
He added: "Climate change is in the media everyday… but in general there is a huge amount of work still to be done. [Green work practices] need to be given much higher priority."
A recent report by the Johnson Controls Energy Efficiency Indicator survey showed that although companies in the USA say they are concerned about climate change they still do little to change it.
