Female graduates will have more options available to them should they embark upon entrepreneurial activities, it has been claimed.
Dr Lorna Collins, the director of NCGE Flying Start, has confirmed that as female graduates can represent the highest percentage of recent students - depending upon the degree subject - not becoming an entrepreneur can leave an individual facing the consequences of there being too many candidates for a particular type of profession.
"[Female] graduates make up the highest percentage of graduates in a number of degree areas including art and design and music arts," said Dr Collins.
"[Consequently, these] graduates who pursue entrepreneurship rather than a job upon graduation will have more options."
In related news, data collated for 2002 by the Office for National Statistics shows that over the course of that year, unemployment among women increased by 12,000.
