Employers affected by .net shortage

Employers are currently facing the problem of a shortage of .net IT developers, it has been revealed.

According to reports from Computer Weekly, over the last three months of the year, compared with the same period last year, the number of vacancies for .net trained staff has increased by 24 per cent.

"We managed to get the skills we needed at the right price, we just had to look a bit harder," said Toby Clarke, group IT director at insurance firm Abbey Protection Group to Computer Weekly. "We were slightly shocked at the price of some .net people," he added.

Over the same period of 2007, the number of permanent advertised vacancies across the whole of the IT sector increased by 11 per cent.
