Employees should receive same benefits as CEOs

Non-executive employees should be given the same bonus arrangements as chief executive officers (CEOs), it has been claimed.

According to comments made by Cliff Grimes, a representative from productivity specialists Accel-Team, workplace motivation can be improved by the introduction of parity between the bonus schemes of CEOs and non-executive members of staff.

Research provided by Corwen Consulting has also found that out of a total of 50 senior executives from either the public sector or a FTSE-listed company, 36 per cent believed that non-executive employees didn't care as much about the success of the business.

"Put everyone on the same incentive remuneration package as the CEO," said Mr Grimes. "It's a leadership style, and treating people with respect and dignity. Without those, you’ll quickly come adrift when you’re trying to motivate people for better productivity," he added.

Among the different types of employee benefits available are profit sharing, larger holiday allowances and full sick pay.

If you employ staff, don't forget you're legally obliged to take out Employer's Liability insurance.
