With voting on who will be elected the mayor of London set to close today, the Confederation of British Industry (CBI) is hoping to working more closely with the new regime.
Ken Livingstone, Boris Johnson, Sian Berry and Brian Paddock head the list of candidates who will be awaiting tonight's results - but the CBI claims to be unconcerned by the outcome.
Instead, the federation's director Nigel Bourne intends to work with the elected individual to ensure that London becomes a "pre-eminent place" to live, work and do business, irrespective of who is victorious.
"We will be supporting a can-do approach to tackling London's many challenges and will be looking for genuine engagement and partnership between business and the mayor's office," explained Mr Bourne.
His sentiments echo those of the Federation of Small Businesses, which called for more consultation with smaller companies after today's election.
