Bank reports business insurance night-owls
Company bosses regularly work well into the night in order to remain competitive, according to research by Lloyds TSB Business Insurance.
The company surveyed small firms in Liverpool and found that around one in four business owners frequently use the internet throughout the night to perform administrative tasks and shop around for the best business insurance products.
According to bosses, there are simply not enough hours in the working day to perform such tasks during office hours.
A spokesman for Lloyds TSB Business Insurance, Gary Hurry, told the Liverpool Echo: "For many small and medium-sized enterprise owners, their business is their passion, yet there's little doubt running that business is a stressful and all-consuming affair.
"Our research shows a large proportion of small business owners in Liverpool are burning the midnight oil once the office has closed and the kids have gone to bed to make sure they keep on top of things."
Mr Hurry revealed that customers commonly log onto the bank's business insurance website and purchase products at 2:00am.
However, he warned that working into the night "can put a strain on people" and recommended that business owners do not work late on a regular basis.
