The results of a new study have found that plastic is now more popular in the UK than cash.
Results from a recent study by fool.co.uk, a website specialising in personal finance, has found that a total of 32 per cent of Britons make use of a credit card for regular spending, while spending with cash came to 29 per cent.
"Plastic can be fantastic, but relying on money we can't see is a reflection of how easy it has been to rely on credit in recent years," said David Kuo, the head of personal finance at fool.co.uk, an organisation with a history going back to 1993.
However, Mr Kuo warned of the importance of setting aside money in savings, as "you could find that all you have is a dead duck in your pocket".
The survey also found that regular spending via debit card accounted for 37 per cent of all spending.
