Restless Britons search for ideal home
New research has revealed that British homeowners expect to own five properties during their lifetime.
A study by Zurich reveals that, although 53 per cent of homeowners say they do not enjoy the moving process, the average respondent has already owned three properties.
Additionally, 18 per cent said they are currently planning to move to a new home.
Regarding the positive side of changing homes, 14 per cent admitted that they enjoy decorating and renovating new properties, while 11 per cent said they look forward to meeting new people.
Steve Gilbert, home underwriting manager at Zurich Insurance, said: "The British obsession with finding the perfect property is still going strong, with homeowners prepared to move hundreds of miles to find the perfect home in the perfect location."
Recent figures from the Bank of England revealed a slight decrease in mortgage lending last month.
